Short answer
The PokerDataOS hand replayer plays back your imported hands street by street (preflop, flop, turn and river) with every action, the pot size and the result. You can filter by format, and it only shows facts stored in the hand: for opponents, just the cards they showed at showdown.
What is a poker hand replayer?
A hand replayer "replays" a hand from its hand history: it seats the players in their positions, deals the cards and steps forward one action at a time. Reading a hand as plain text is slow and easy to lose track of; seeing it on a table lets you focus on what matters, which is the decision.
For a player who studies, the hand replayer is the bridge between stats and real play. Stats tell you where a problem is; the replayer shows you how it happens.
What does the PokerDataOS hand replayer show?
- All four streets: preflop, flop, turn and river, in order.
- Every action by every player: fold, check, call, bet, raise and all-in, with sizes.
- The pot at every point in the hand.
- The result of the hand.
- Format filters, so you can review only your MTT, cash or Spins hands.
Everything comes from the hands you imported. The replayer never fills in information the hand does not have: if an opponent did not show their cards, they are not displayed.
How do you review a poker hand to find mistakes?
Watching the hand is not enough; you have to question it. A simple method for each hand:
- Set the spot. Position, stack depth, format and tournament stage for MTTs.
- Pause before each of your decisions. Decide what you would do before looking at what you did.
- Check the sizing. Many mistakes are not in the action but in the bet size.
- Think in ranges, not cards. Ask which hands your opponent has with that line, not only what they showed.
- Write down the takeaway. One sentence per hand: what you would change and in which spot it repeats.
How do you go from a leak to the hands that explain it?
Reviewing random hands is inefficient. The useful move is to start from a concrete deviation in the leak detector, such as a very high fold to 3-bet from the cutoff, and open hands from that spot in the replayer. You will see whether the deviation comes from specific hands in your range, a 3-bet size that bothers you or a type of opponent.
If the spot is preflop, the natural next step is to drill it in the preflop trainer. For a complete method to sort thousands of hands, read how to analyze your hand histories.
